Birmingham is premiering quite the series of events the weekend of August 26th-28th. The best part is, each of these events are going to get us out enjoying what’s left of these beautiful sunny days and warm evenings.Take a look at what all we found to do below.

SIDEWALK FILM FESTIVAL

Kick off the 18th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival on August 26th at 5:00 PM with the Theater District Throwdown located at 3rd Avenue N by the 1800 block. Enjoy food, live music, beer, wine and more. This year’s line up features films from to men vs Sasquatch to Breakfasting at a Chicago staple’s last day being open. Take a look at the schedule here and plan your weekend of local food and discovery.

90’s Glow in the Dark Dance Party

Ready to Dance the Night away as a little renegade? Sidewalk Film Festival is inviting everyone out for the 90’s Glow in the Dark Dance Party. Join the rest of the glow in the dark dancing Queens and Kings at the Birmingham Parking Authority Deck #7 (and we aren’t talking porch- deck, we mean rooftop parking deck). The party will have blacklight friendly paint available, all you can eat pizza, open bar and drinks from Coopers’ Craft Bourbon and Back Forty Beer. Tickets are available here and are only $20!

 

SHOW IN THE DARK

The Community Grief Support is a non-profit organization that provides free grief counseling to the greater Birmingham area. On Saturday August 27th beginning at 5 PM, Avondale Brewery will be hosting their fun and family friendly Show in the Dark event. Tickets are available here and include a beer token, food from iCantina, free giveaways and live music. Bring your family, even your pup and enjoy an evening out!

 

POKEMON GO BAR CRAWL

Pokemon Go Bar Crawl Birmingham Iron City Brannon Honda

Iron City is inviting all you Pokemon Go fanatics to a night out on August 27th starting at 8 PM. The planned route has everyone adventuring to six different stops from Buck Mulligan’s to World of Beer. The Iron City Pokemon Go League will be providing lures for Pokestops that are hit as well as lures in route to the area! So get out and get catching those Pokemon’s!

From catching a flick to catching a pokemon, hop in your Brannon Honda and get out this weekend!
